Mark Your Calendars for the Solar Eclipse!

The start of August marks the 20 day countdown until the highly anticipated solar eclipse of 2017! As one of the states in the direct path of this eclipse, Kentuckians have a great chance to witness the phenomenon. Use this link to check out the time-frame and percent of obscuration that will be visible from your location:

As the link indicates, most of Kentucky residents will be able to witness at least a 90% obscuration of the sun during the eclipse. Here in Danville, the eclipse will start on August 21st around 1:00 PM, reach maximal obscuration at 2:30, and end around 4:00 PM.

For those that aren’t aware, a solar eclipse occurs when the orbits of the Earth and Moon line up just right to allow the Moon to pass between the Earth and the Sun, momentarily blocking the sun’s rays. We hope that you take the chance to appreciate this awesome event!

Make sure to wear protective eyewear if you choose to watch! Normal sunglasses are not sufficient. Use this link to learn more about how to safely watch an eclipse: https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety

Hire of Father-Son Team Qualifies Wilderness Trace Solar for a Small Business Tax Credit

Wilderness Trace Solar was recently mentioned in the Advocate-Messenger for acquiring a $7,000 tax credit through the Kentucky Small Business Tax Credit program. As the article’s author, Kendra Peek, noted:

The sun shines bright on Kentucky, and on Wilderness Trace Solar…The company can use the credit for up to five years. It qualified for hiring a manager of installation and an installation technician.

Peek went on to acknowledge Wilderness Trace Solar as likely being the first Boyle County business to earn a Kentucky Small Business Tax Credit. Hiring Danny Tolson as our installation manger and Chris Tolson as our installation technician has been a significant asset for our company, and we could not be happier to have the father-son team on board!

Nancy Lindsay’s Testimonial

“The men at Wilderness Trace Solar were professional and helpful throughout the process of our solar install. They were patient with all of our questions. The install went smoothly and the area was kept clean and returned to the same condition as before the install. I would highly recommend solar panels to anyone who is interested. The savings are already growing.” – Nancy Lindsay
